Agreement
These terms are an agreement between Novarra Design Solutions LLC (“Novarra”, “we”, “us”) and the company you represent (“you”). You accept them when you tick the box to agree at signup, and by using the service, including submitting a design request. By accepting, you confirm that you are at least 18 and authorized to bind your company. If you have signed a separate written agreement with us, that agreement takes priority where the two differ.
The service is for businesses only, not for personal, family or household use. Our Privacy notice and AI disclosure explain how we handle information and use AI.
The service
We prepare unstamped residential solar and battery permit plansets, delivered as PDF and DWG files, from the information and files you provide. Unless we agree otherwise in writing:
- Plansets are drafting and design documents. They are not stamped or sealed, and they are not prepared or certified by a licensed professional.
- When a job needs a PE stamp, we can arrange one through an independent licensed partner at their cost plus a fee. That partner, not Novarra, is responsible for the stamp and the work it covers.
- We do not file permits, visit sites, inspect work or install equipment.
AI designers
Each request is assigned an AI designer. AI designers are AI software, not people, and are always labelled “AI designer”. They answer questions and explain the process, but they cannot change a request, approve a refund or agree to anything on our behalf. AI replies may be wrong and are not binding quotes or promises; our published prices and these terms apply. A person on our team reviews every planset before it ships.
Your account
- Give accurate account details and keep your password confidential.
- You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect misuse.
- We may suspend or close accounts that are misused or that break these terms.
- You agree that we may send you notices, receipts and other messages about the service by email or in the portal, and that these electronic records satisfy any requirement for written notice.
Your responsibilities on each job
- Give complete and accurate job information, survey photos and design files, and have the homeowner's permission, and give them any notice the law requires, to share their information with us.
- Make the decisions that are yours to make, such as energy community status, battery location and service work, or confirm the ones we propose.
- Review and verify every planset before you submit it, and check that it matches site conditions, the equipment actually installed, and current AHJ, utility and code requirements. You are responsible for submitting the planset to the AHJ and utility, and for obtaining any stamp, permit or approval the job needs.
- Install the system in line with the approved plans, manufacturer instructions and applicable codes.
Where we fill gaps ourselves, for example reading meter details from photos, looking up an ESIID or checking adopted code editions, we tell you so you can confirm.
Homeowner information
When you send us information about a homeowner, we process it on your behalf, only to prepare and support the planset for that job, and as described in our Privacy notice. We keep it confidential, require the same of our team and service providers, protect it with reasonable security, tell you without unreasonable delay if we learn of a breach affecting it, help you respond to homeowners' privacy requests, and delete or return it when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Turnaround and revisions
Our target is 24 hours from a complete request, for every design. This is a target, not a guarantee.
Each planset includes two free revisions after the first submission. A revision can cover corrections requested by the AHJ or utility, or changes you ask for on the delivered set. Design changes beyond the two free revisions are billed at our published price for an additional design change (currently USD 50). New work, such as a different system size, new equipment or a different site, is a new design request.
Payment and refunds
All payments are final and non-refundable. This includes a request you cancel after paying for it, and a planset the AHJ or utility rejects for reasons outside the planset's scope, such as site conditions, equipment choices, interconnection limits or documents we do not prepare. Your remedy for a planset that does not meet these terms is the two free revisions described above.
- New installers receive their first design free. The free design is limited to one per installer and one per network: if a free design has already been used from the same internet connection (IP address, or for IPv6 the same network block), the next new account's first request is paid. If you're a separate business sharing a connection, contact us and we'll review it.
- After that, each design request must be paid in full before we start work on it. We do not offer invoicing or payment terms.
- Prices are the ones on our published price list at the time you submit the request. Prices may change, but a change does not affect a request you have already submitted.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe. When you save a card, you authorize us to charge it for each design request you submit after your first. We do not see or store your full card number.
- There are no subscriptions or automatic renewals.
Files and ownership
Once a planset is paid for (or delivered, for your free first design), you may use, copy and modify it for that project, including submitting it to the AHJ and utility. We keep ownership of our templates, title blocks, methods and internal tools. You keep ownership of the information and files you send us, and you give us permission to use them to do the work.
Confidentiality
We keep your job information confidential and use it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy notice.
No guarantee of approval
AHJs and utilities make their own decisions. We prepare plansets carefully, but we cannot guarantee that any planset will be approved, or approved within a given time.
Disclaimer of warranties
Except as stated in these terms, and to the extent the law allows, the website, the portal, AI designer replies and the plansets are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a planset is limited to the fees you paid for that planset, and our total liability for any other claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, such as lost profits, delays, failed inspections or rework, including rework caused by inaccurate information supplied to us.
Your indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from information or files you gave us, your lack of a homeowner's permission, your submission or use of a planset, or the installation.
