Why Novarra

Between the US shop and the offshore freelancer.

Our team's background is solar field support on hybrid inverters and battery systems. We specialize in the battery storage jobs whose permit drawings bounce back from the AHJ: main panel upgrades, battery walls, detached garages and sheds.

Decisions, not just drafting

We read the survey photos like an electrician, make the main panel upgrade or service upgrade call, and write down why.

Storage clearances done right

Batteries and inverters placed to Duracell and Sonnen installation clearances, drawn to scale on the battery wall elevation.

Codes matched to the actual AHJ

Code editions matched to each job's AHJ, not copied from the last job, with Oncor, CenterPoint, TNMP and AEP service requirements built in.

We ask before we draw

When the survey doesn't settle a decision your team should make, we ask first instead of guessing, so the set matches what you'll install.

QA on every set

Full checklist before anything ships: string counts, tag numbers, codes and clearances.

No guessing for your PM

Every set includes a job report listing each assumption, so nothing comes back as a surprise.

FAQ

Permit planset questions installers ask us

What's included in a solar permit planset?+

Every set includes a cover sheet with codes matched to the AHJ, a site plan, a roof layout with fire setbacks and attachments, an inverter and string map, a single line diagram with calculations, meter and battery wall elevations, schedules, labels and safety pages, and a job report listing every assumption. It comes as a submission-ready PDF and DWG.

See every sheet, explained
Are your plansets stamped?+

No. We deliver unstamped permit sets. When a job needs a PE stamp, we arrange it through a partner at cost plus 15%.

How much does a solar permit plan set cost?+

A PV-only permit planset up to 20 kW is USD 215. A PV + battery planset up to 20 kW is USD 299. Both include two free revisions. MPU or FSU, a detached structure, or a system over 20 kW adds USD 75 each. Your first set is free.

How fast is turnaround?+

Every design comes back within 24 hours of a complete intake, as a submission-ready PDF and DWG. There's no rush fee because there's no slow lane.

Which batteries and utilities do you design for?+

We focus on Duracell Power Center and Sonnen storage jobs, including Solrite financed jobs, in Oncor, CenterPoint, TNMP and AEP territory. Working with other equipment or another utility? Send the job and we confirm scope before work starts.

Battery storage plan sets
What do you need from me to start?+

Site survey photos, your roof drawing (2D wireframe or DWG), the equipment list, and the address, utility and promised production. Any shared photo link works: SharinPix, CompanyCam, Google Drive, Dropbox and so on.

Which roof drawings do you accept?+

A 2D roof wireframe or CAD drawing as a .dwg, .dxf or .zip file, up to 200 MB. Many solar design and roof measurement tools can export one: for example, exports from Scanifly, Aurora Solar, OpenSolar, EagleView, HOVER, GAF QuickMeasure and DroneDeploy. These are other companies' products; we have no affiliation with them.

What if the AHJ or utility sends corrections?+

Every set includes two free revisions after the first submission. They cover AHJ or utility corrections and changes you request to the delivered set. Further design changes after that are USD 50 each.

Do you file permits?+

No. We hand you a submission-ready PDF and DWG; filing the permit and the utility interconnection application stays with your team.

How does the free first set work?+

New installers get their first set free, one per installer and network. Send a real job through the intake form and judge the set. After that, each set is paid before work starts.
